JOOMOOLOONY MAYIBANY- Boab Tree fruit by Jonathon Malgil
Showing here the Joomooloony Mayibany which is commonly known as Boab with fruit or Adansonia Gregorii. For Gija the joomooloony tree represents fertility. It is also a great source of vitamin C. The green nuts can be cooked in the coals of a fire. When the nuts are dry the fruit inside can be eaten without cooking. The roots of the young joomooloony tree are also eaten (like a small carrot) or processed by hand to make string.
