WAC29/25 – Jaiden Wilson

This is my Grandfather, Rammey Ramsey, country. I never seen this place, but I just like to paint his country and to learn more of his story and his beautiful country because I’m part of him as well. I’m from his daughter Kathy Ramsey. My Mum is the fifth child to my Grandfather and an artist of Warmun Art Centre. In this painting Grandpa talks about hunting with mob of his ancestors of his land and water holes. This is his Mothers’ and Fathers’ country. Grandpas’ country is full of everything, such as kangaroos, goannas, sugarbag {bush honey}, fish, turtles, crocodiles, emus and turkey. I thank God for an honest and humble old soul that tells his story about his country alone and paints only his country his country and no other 

.And so, I would like to carry on from him with my Mum Kathy Ramsay.
