Bow River Country- Story of the Land by Jaiden Wilson inspired by her mother Kathy Ramsay
This is Bow River Country—a place deeply rooted in the heart and history of my family.
Our connection to this land runs deep, carried through both droving journeys and traditional stories passed down across generations. This road here, once known as the old Wyndham road, holds the footprints of our old people. In the early days, it was rough and dusty; now it’s been graded, but the memories still run strong alongside it.
My ancestors lived all across this country, setting up camp near the riverbeds, moving with the seasons, and living from the land. They hunted kangaroo, porcupine, and gathered all kinds of bush foods, surviving and thriving with the knowledge that this Country provided everything they needed.
We are truly blessed. God gave us these boundaries—not just lines in the earth, but sacred responsibilities. This Country is our home, and it is our duty to keep it, hold it, and protect it—so our future generations of children will always have it too.
This artwork is a tribute to that legacy—of strength, survival, and deep spiritual connection. It is a reminder that Bow River Country is not just a place, but a living story carried in the hearts of those who belong.
